Heating Capacity, 1350 Watts, Model# DFSS450BLK (Kitchen) I just purchased this same unit from a local retail outlet (this was not Prime shipping on Amazon and I did not want to spend nearly $20 for shipping). Easy to get operational (you just plug it into an outlet). I read all the instructions before plugging it in but was unprepared for my home smoke detectors to be set off within one minute of starting the heater. The unit emits a chemical odor (at least initially) and I believe the smoke from this chemical set off my smoke detector alarm. The heater instructions are silent on this possibility so I am unsure whether I will try to burn off the chemical in an outlet outside my home, or return the heater for a refund, as I do not know if it is defective and this was the cause of the smoke. 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: Very nice heater for our bedroom., By This review is from: Duraflame Vent-Free Electric Heater Stove - 4600 BTU, 400 Sq. While you can run the flame without the heater, there isn't an option to run the heater without the flame. I tried turning the dial all the way down on the flame 'brightness' knob and it pretty much went out, but the thing inside that makes the flicker was still rotating and there was a very faint light. I wonder how long the bulb inside will last? There are instructions on how to take the back off and put in a new one. It says it uses a 40 watt, E12 socket base light bulb (candelabra base, B bulb.) The instructions appear easy enough, take the back off, put in new bulb.My only complaint is that the legs were hard for me to put on. I couldn't do it by hand with a screwdriver, it was like the holes were slightly too small for the screws. I had to get out the electric drill, put on a phillips head attachment, and really PUSH to get the screws in. Using that methon, two legs on one side went right on, but the two on the other...
