      Just to prepare you in making an educated purchase; be aware that the instructions state to mount fireplace at 2m from floor upon the wall. Much higher than I would enjoy it at. The button to turn it on is on the side (you can use the remote after it is on) and the heat/vents are on the bottom and top of the unit.

      I had hoped to resess it into the wall. This would remove any advantage of heat.

      Compared to the other two electric fireplaces i own (purchased at Lowes), this one offers very little heat.

      otherwise, it is very good looking and an acceptable size for a wall.

      For my purposes I think i will try to resell it, as i doubt i will have much sucess returning it. It didn't come with a packing slip. Or, i will just put it in a room that i want the good looks but not heat.

      Super quick delivery. 9 dim-bright settings on realistic coals and flame. 2 heater settings. Anyone know the low heat wattage btw? Wish it had a thermostat hint-hint. Instructions are a bit funky in places but installation was a snap and it heats and looks great!

      What I wanted was "atmosphere" --- flickering flames, glowing coals, fireside romance. Guess what --- this little fellow delivers "big time"--- I am absolutely delighted! Perfect, right out of the box!

      Sure, I looked at "the others" (up close, personally) --- some priced at $800+, all available for testing --- but I winced at what I would be getting for my money: Not enough "bang for the buck." I did discover, though, that having a remote control with various options for the appearance of the "fire" is important. This option, however, was restricted to the higher-priced models. Drat!

      Then, I went online and discovered this one. I ordered it because I trust Amazon.com, individual reviews were positive (especially since I want the appearance of a fire, not the heat of one.), it has a remote to control the "fire," size/proportions are great, and the price was incredibly low. (The last is what worried me.)
