I spent a year looking looking at electric fireplaces after deciding I didn't want the hassle of a regular firplace, a gas vented fireplace, or a gas non-vented fireplace.

I looked at every store I could think of and they read anything I could find on the internet.

One theme came through... Dimplex.

I looked at the various models of Dimplex fireplaces, but the ones I wanted were $2,000!!!

I finally bought a Dimplex fireplace insert from Ebay for half of the list price and mated it with a prefrabicated firplace enclosure.

I thought I had the best artificial flame I could get and I'm still very happy with the big fireplace in my livingroom.

But today I'm strolling through a local Menard's store and I spy this unit just setting there in the shelf, It wasn't tured on, but it just looked high class.

I looked it over a bit and ws reminded of some of those $800 wall mounted firplaces they use in bedrooms or areas... Read more

I didn't need the heat feature. All we wanted was the ambience and that's what we got. Easy to mount and well worth the price.

This was a let down it doesn't heat, you have to be right up on it to feel any heat. The air is forced out the top instead of the front which I would have preferred. It's pretty but not effective.
